Land of the Free?...err...the Native American holocaust? ..how many were murdered by the US Government? An honourable nation? Nonsense. The Removal Act of 1830? The 'Trail of Tears' in 1838 - a forced march of the Cherokee which resulted in the destruction of most of the Cherokee population.

Why I think the USA became rich...
New developping country attracted foreign investments. The markets grew the biggest in the world. Every company knew they had to participate, so they bought American companies or moved their HQ there.
Two world wars ruined Europe, the latter completely. The USA gave loans to the Europeans so they could buy American products and support her industry. Petro dollar was installed, and dollar made the world trade currency which meant everyone needed to buy dollars.

Masses of poor people, who don't even have good health care, huge crime, mafia, prisons packed with people,half of the people religious fanatics, terrible ignorance thanks to failed education, wars everywhere all the time, tyranny, laughable elections, surveillance, oh, please! What a nightmare!
