It is on the fastest setting (which is all I use) and results in about an inch per minute. I use a Starrett 10/14 variable pitch bi-metal blade.

I apologize for the crappy video quality. I render with Sony Vegas then had to run it through Super to get a format that wasn't completely choppy once uploaded, but clarity has been sacrificed.

  • What length of blade did you get made. I just bought this saw today, and have been watching videos. As one person noted, the instruction manual says it uses a 64" blade, but the box and the HF sight says 64 1/2". I plan on getting a good quality blade to use with this machine. Thanks for any help!

  • @alextrichards have them make it 64.5". 64" might be possible install but I would bet it would be a major hassle if it is possible. Even 64.5" is can be tricky if you're tired :)

  • @russtuff WoW, thanks for the quick reply man, i really appreciate it.. I will order a couple blades tomorrow.

  • @alextrichards No problem. Let me know if I can help with anything else.

  • can you do a video cutting in the vertical position? Is there a table that bolts on in the vertical position?

  • @cfauvel There is a table for the vertical, and it works OK. It is a bit light and you will need to keep a screwdriver around to tighten down the bolts.

I actually sold my saw when I got a screaming deal on a larger 7x12 saw. I have regretted it ever since. The 7x12 saw I bought (used) is a JET and has been nothing but a pain in my ass. The red HF saw you are looking at never gave me a single problem. I may do a video of the stupid JET saw if I ever get it to work properly.

  • Tractor Supply sells a 64 1/2" blade that is made in the US for right around $16.00

I have the same saw different color. Lately I have had a problem with the saw. It seems to be cutting stock with about 15 degrees of undercut. I have the adjusters maxed out. I need a mod that will keep the blade perpendicular to the stock.

  • i got mine maybe 8 years ago when they were green and was 160 delivered. still works fine. get blades at menards for around $10

  • @natealb I justy go one today, the problem I was having was that the wheel on the high side was out of alighnment. loosen the tension on the blade, loosen the two bolts on the wheel adjustment, and then there is an allen screw to the right of the two bolts, I had to turn mine almost all the way in to keep the blade from walking off. Once it is alighned, tighten the two bolts, and reset your blade tension.

    Hope this helps :)

  • I just got mine together. I have a problem with the blade poping off the wheels on the inside. I think there are some adjustments but im clueless on how to do that. Got any suggestions?

    Good tip on the blades!
