am I the only one thinking this sounds alot like Code of the Streets by Gang Starr?
-
My art of war is more than just another metaphor
vast lands where the black hand's out to settle scores
swinging metal swords as your head & neck divorce
shots of red & gore, violence always sets the course
I always led in force, black shadows move swift
move-ments planned, stand in the path the moon-lit
actions as a u-nit, tools picked, our heads bow to no-one
foes silenced with clothes violet, the code of the shogun...

same chord progression as code of the streets but im trying to figure out the sample(s) I think he might have piano rolled tampering wiht the pitch and time stretching

@ knop95
the notes are similar but Code of the Streets isn't menacing like this is
Welcome to Memphis, the place of mega trife,
we scream "I KEEP IT REAL" as a motto for the hood life,
perhaps it's the youngest who are the most vulnerable,
without guidance, heaven; better yet hell is unstable,
picture a dark alley, without a gang rally,
but it never happens 'cause we all gots backs,
wherever the realest scream they got the hood rats,
I gotcha back brother, never just another,
we all stay together.
I gotcha back but you best ta watch your front..... watch ya back....
