They don't work, or even exist. It was a con to make people buy TV licenses. As far as I'm aware, it didn't work.

I remember this ad, they're taking a fucking long time to catch me, 51 years so far 145 quid a year from everyone in the UK when everyone else in the world can get the BBC for free, totally wrong, then they send their goons out harassing people the threatening they'll be fined and left with a criminal record, arseholes !!!
