As for the 1st shot, I really wanted to do this particular timelapse of sunset / lake / christmas light. I only had few more days until people take down the lighting decorations, and I'm usually not available at sunset. On Christmas Eve, I got off work at 3, stopped by at Best Buy to get a new memory-card reader, safari-ed on my iPhone to check sunset would be at 4:48pm, and then rushed here to arrive at 4:30pm. That's that for the 1st shot. I should've started 10 min. later and finished 10 min. later.

And for the rest, photos for timelapse were being shot NOT to make a good timelapse video, but to allow me to spend time with my girlfriend. As seen on the 4th shot, although she didn't realize, we weren't freezing our butts off just to wait for 30-min shooting to finish, but timelapse was being shot to capture this one moment. This time, we weren't waiting for 7D to do its work, but 7D was waiting for us. Of course, she did not know.

We were writing down things happened in 2009 on one column, and the things we expect to happen in 2010 on the other. I wrote down "getting married" on 2010 column, then asked her. (Details left out on purpose)
You will be able to see things happening at 0:55 on the video.

  • Hello!

Your work is gorgeous /well done!!!

Do you need a slow motor control to pan and zoom, etc.?

If so, what do you call such a device?

    Thank you for sharing!

  • @bubblerings there are some motorized system such as one from kessler crane's. But for mine, i didn't use it. I just did it in the post moving from one side of the photos to another / zooming out from the middle.
