  • @Rosannasfriend Eddie's daughter Carrie said that Liz called to speak with Eddie before he passed away. Maybe to put things right between them. When I see this performance, I see the Eddie Fisher I knew for years. I just bought an Andy Williams show collection so I could see Eddie at his best on several of Andy's shows.

  • @Rosannasfriend Carrie Fisher has said in her book that Liz called to speak to Eddie, maybe to put things right between the two of them. When I see this performance, I see the Eddie Fisher I knew for several years, a great talent. I just bought the Andy Williams collection of his shows just so I can see Eddie at his best on several of Andy's shows.

  • @dungareedoll1 I agree. The first time I saw this performance I was truly sad. I grew up hearing only about the fiasco with Liz Taylor. I think it is a shame that she is so forgiven, while Eddie wasn't. I actually think her behavior was a LOT worse(though I love the woman she became).

  • @Rosannasfriend As a long time fan of Eddie's, I am tired of reading about his personal life, people forget that a lot of entertainers do a lot worse than Eddie ever did in his life, and they are so adored by the public. I have known Eddie pretty well, back in the 1980's and into the 1990's, he was a very sweet man. His last marriage made him happy until he lost his lovely wife. I was so happy that he found someone to love him.

He had a great life, despite all the ups and downs. Great singer.

  • I'm still so shocked by this. No one talks about how great Eddie was, only about Liz Taylor and Debbie Reynolds triangle. His voice was the best of the three men and inspires me so!

  • Thank you so much, an extraordinary era

  • @zitaperez He is an accomplished performer with an entertaining style of expressions and body language who can sing passably; but he lacks the pipes to be a great singer. His voice lacks the power, range, pitch, tone control, phrasing, and grasp of chord structure that came so easily to the talented interpreters of the Great American Songbook, led by Sinatra and Ella. Dig out some Eddie fisher hits and listen to his sheer power. Check out Jo Stafford's perfect pitch. Pipes!

  • Thanx my friend!!!

  • What can you say - just wonderful

  • The only guys today who come close to the power and clarity of voice of these guys would be those Irish tenor guys. Funny how today's top classical singers were just par for the course pop singers in the last century.
