so here it is, my first original song...ever. always wanted to make my own music, figured was time to give it a go. would greatly appreciate feedback, comments, ratings....oh, but the recording quality is per my standard. I am working with a digital camera, not really intended for this. it changes my voice a bit, or at least i feel like it does. it is what it is. I hope you enjoy anyway.

In the shadow of the shade
I drink my life like lemonade
I sign the backside of a postcard
address it to you from my backyard
and if flat-broke was a body I'd be in it
and if this hadn't already started I'd begin it

Beneath the branches of the trees
I breathe a sigh of the fallen leaves
I search my mind for an unsaid phrase
and find behind my teeth hides the sun's rays
Oh and if emptiness was a body I'd be in it
and since won't ever be written I can sing it

Its ok if the rain comes
and I don't quite care if the ink runs
its ok if the clouds stay
I wasn't sending this postcard anyway

Between this paper and this pen
sets a day that never ends
empty lines to fill my daybreak
a stamp that binds to the landscape
