see, this looks like tons 'o' fun...without engines...you can start slow, yes, but when you gain speed, you can have a blast with going holy butt-fuck speeds...

No. Gravity is a constant, as Galileo proved. More weight does give you more momentum though, so might help carry you over rough surfaces or small rises. Good performance is down to low rolling resistance and to a lesser extent aerodynamics.

Build a kart & start something yourself. That's what I'm doing. My new kart is nearly done, & I've been in contact with a few interested people.
