Don Airey's solo takes you from Bach to Mozart and then to Holst (to name only a few), and then out of the darkness Jon Lord appears and begins "Perfect Strangers." A magnificent farewell show for and from retiring(from Deep Purple) maestro Jon Lord.

  • king keyboardist Jon Lord is one of the reasons i carried on listening to deep purple....

  • @ritchiehere Please forgive my idiotic response. I think understand what you mean. I have never been so moved by an organ (keyboard) player, and his orchestral writing is amazingly compelling and beautiful.

  • don airey is wonderful, but Jon Lord is really LORD!!!!

  • @azisgagap1 They're all magnificent!

  • I understand now why deep purple likes so much to play in Argentina every year, the public in the video doesn't even moves! (no offence intended). If you take a look to a show from Argentina there's a sea of people jumping and moving their heads!

  • @Aschmodeus but Don Airey played in Colosseum II, which is much more challenging and diverse music, than all DP's catalog

  • I am really glad that I had chance to listen this live! Amazing!

  • both know how to use their instruments.....Lord has more balls....!

  • @segimoveisfred

interesting comment you left here. hm, yes, there seem to be some kind of tension in DA, while JL appears to be more relaxed.

  • Airey is a very good keyboardist, but he of course knew what he's getting into when he started playing with Deep Prurple, he will always be "that guy filling in for Jon".

  • Don Airey's great !.... but Lord ...is Lord !

  • Amazing!

  • Unbelievable well-rehearsed band - absolutely amazing. I play in a band that's why I say that they just know perfectly each other's playing. They complement each other perfectly and they really feel the music the absolute same way. Wonderful to listen

  • Deep Purple are like wine. Good wine. I love wine, you know?
