Why did they give it to Amber/Mercedes? Because the Star Spangled Banner requires a HUGE range. Lea/Rachel has an amazing voice, but only in her small range. Amber/Mercedes has the largest range, therefor she is singing.

I disagree, I would've still have given the part to Amber, but Amber's range is only a bit wider than Lea's.
