Secondlife 6th Birthday Exhibition 2009.
OMG! This is so old!
I created this exhibit in 2 days on site at the SL6B sim, Velocity.
It displays 6 'artifacts' and 6 predictions of virtual worlds.
I used a known hack in the LSL code to transport people to the 'future' predictions once they had checked out the 'artifacts' in the lower level.
That incorporates ideals from Neal Stephenson's 'Snow Crash' book that is quoted as being the first mention of 'virtual worlds' or 'metaverses' and the inspiration that led Philip Rosdale AKA Philip Linden to create Secondlife in the first place.
I learned a lot about the history of virtual worlds and wanted everything in my exhibit to be freely available to everyone.
Therefore all the scripts and textures I used were modified from opensource to suit the environment.
As a side note for SLer's, check out the old Phenom HUD from 'back in the day' and an early version of my own 'proKIT BodyGuard HUD'. LoL.
Thanks Hightone for believing in me.
