Withdrawal from Prozac is harder than withdrawing from heroin! The withdrawal symptoms include trembling and tendencies to either suicide or violence to others.

By Gary Null, Ph.D. and Martin Feldman, M.D.

Side effects that have been associated with Prozac:

Suicide. Beyond the link between akathisia and acts of violence, some users of Prozac have said that the drug caused them to develop suicidal thoughts and obsessions. In some cases, the use of Prozac allegedly has prompted people to commit murder. This aspect of the drug has generated controversy and led to discussions in both medical publications and the general media about the connection between Prozac and acts of violence

Psychosis. A person's nervousness may reach a psychotic level when the overstimulation of the nervous system is severe. People can become paranoid, extremely depressed, suicidal and dangerous to others around them. They may behave in bizarre ways, perhaps by spending all their money or directing traffic naked. The mental effects of fluoxetine treatment have been discussed in several psychiatric reports

Akathisia. As noted, people may suffer from a variety of side effects when the central nervous system is overstimulated. Studies show that two effects of overstimulation--akathisia and agitation--are experienced by some people who take fluoxetine (the chemical name for Prozac).

  • Prozac is the easiest SSRI to withdrawal from due to its long half life.Actually its the best antidepressant to go off of. Try getting off of Paxil or Effexor, you miss one dose and you know it right away! But by no means am I saying Prozac is the best antidepressant to take.

  • @000TQ000 I've been on it (20mg) for nearly 3 years..... You'll probably have to get used to it for a while, at least the right side of your face and neck aren't plastered to your shoulder. The constant twitching is going to drive me to insanity.

    ..

There's an unintentional pun in there..... somewhere.

  • If they were not contemplating suicide or extremely depressed why were they taking it?

  • same story with me aswel lead me to trying strangling myself. it basically numbs emotion and empathy so the idea of suicide becomes logical you cant empathise with how others feel or even yourself. it took only 2 weeks for me to feel that bad i was reacting to my fathers death and doctor gave me this drug!! drugs companies are scum. aswel as psychiatrists and doctors who dont care.

  • this shit lead me to suicide aswel when i was 18. seems im certainly not alone. drugs companies are scum.

  • i used to take prozac and i did well on it,the most "normal" i`ve been in my life. But i couldnt "cum",which was frustrating. Then i discover that prozac is a fluorinated drug,so i quit it.I`ve had thyroid problems since quitting, but i`m glad i quit.Fluorinated drugs are bad for the body and brain

  • Note to Self: Stop taking Prozac

  • I couldn't watch the video

  • I've been on 20mg of fluoxetine for 10 days now, Its working quite well. No longer feel agitated at friends or family, conversing more and just a greater sense of well-being. These side affects are extremely rare and so don't be put off taking antidepressants, they help millions of people.

  • @jackanoryjames I've been taking it for nearly a month now and it just makes me feel really tired all the time, I thought it would make me feel more confident and happy but no, seems like I'm gonna have to sort my head out with a psychiatrist :(
