Tijah: Seluruh pentadbiran Orang Asli sudah tercemar

Representatives of the Orang Asli community want Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to take a stand on the community's rights, following a damning statement by former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Speaking to reporters at a joint press conference with the Bar Council, Peninsular Malaysia Orang Asli Network coordinator Tijah Yok Chopil called on Najib to put his foot down to prove that his 1Malaysia call is not empty propaganda.

"I am demanding that the '1Malaysia prime minister' tells people like (Mahathir) to stop such behaviour, which will only drive wedges among us," she said.

But in Malaysia the most corrupt politicians are the most rewarded, like the corrupt Felda Chairman and one of the richest men in the world, the CM of Sarawak. For hundreds of years, the old Malay Kingdoms never covet the mountain areas inhabited by Orang Asli thus they were left alone. Now with the valuable resources like timber and rare minerals, suddenly Orang Asli is left out to dry. Malays after exploited by the British should be sympathetic but now feel threaten by their cry for justice just because people like Tun Mahathir and BN said so.
