Low levels of avian mortality vs. contribution to global climate change? I think a few dead birds is worth preventing further climate shifting, the results of which are not fully understood.

To be fair, Fukashima did not adhere to the safety regulations the US must follow, such as wall thickness around reactors, etc. Also, their plant was constructed in a stupid location. That said, the nature of natural disasters means that no nuclear power plant can never be foolproof.

The smallest, short-term impact on the environment, yes. Spent nuclear rods pose a great issue for nuclear power advocates.
