was this pressed? Many HMV pressings
were better than their American counterparts.

I heard a radio interview with his widow in the 1980's - not only was he very talented, she claimed his philosphy was to surround himself with the best talent he could hire, unlike a number of his contemporary band leaders who wanted to be the star of the show. It shows in the recordings he and the "all stars" made!
