MMtM's Entry for "20 VOICES" contest!

This is my entry for DeStorm's (http://www.youtube.com/DeStorm ) latest beat production contest, "20 Voices".

Production notes:
Other than the turntable scratching at the beginning, all parts were played or programmed live.
Real guitars, bass, keys, etc

DeStorm provided an acapella that also had background harmonies mixed in, so it made mixing the vocals difficult. If I win (or if De just likes my production), maybe I'll be able to get his vocals on separate tracks so I can do a better mix.

I'm happy with the production and think it captures that grimy, east coast sound. After listening through many of the other producer entries, I'm confident that no one (so far) has gone in the direction or to the detail that I have.

The tracks and horns you had for the vocals, what is the name of the original song and do you make more music like that?

@xphungsiwax I'm not sure if I follow your question. This track with DeStorm is called "Make It There". He wrote the vocals, I wrote all the music. I do make more hip hop, but since I'm not an emcee/rapper, I don't put it up on this channel much. Other examples of my hip hop production work is under my producer alias, Lone Monk. @MakeMeTheMusic Sorry, I thought the back track you had to the acapella was an actual song you mixed with. Also, what microphone is the best do you think and affordable for recording a tenor saxophone and a bunch horns, for like doing youtube videos and recording and producing an album?
