Garmin 1490 always starts rebooting at the same spot. Garmin has replaced the unit 4 times but Garmin support has no idea how to fix the problem or what to do next.

  • Garmin just released a software update that fixes this. Release date was Jan 4th, 2012. Software version 4.80. I downloaded it yesterday and it seems to have fixed the rebooting issue.

  • Any idea what the fix is or was? My 1450 just started doing this only when it's routing though. When you are not routing to a destination, it operates just fine.............grrrrrrr

  • @BiteDoctor A year later? The only thing sissy is your moms twat when I am done with it.

  • @badderthanyou his video is helpful... but you are completely useless. thanks for your opinion sissy.

  • it was weird. I tried to type "San diego" in the CITY field and it did not even recognize it in its database! I did this at Best Buy demo mode. Also tried it on the 3790. It must hate San Diego

  • I have the same problem with my one. I am very disapointed with my Garmin

  • its the MAP thing...

  • should you be more focused on driving than holding a camera and fiddling with a GPS? I wouldn't be too happy if you smacked into the back of my car on the freeway

  • Is anyone else having problems with the 1490 Favourites folders? Creating a subfolder is not working (that is, when you want to group all your friends addresses, it wouldn't let you).

I still own a nuvi 260w and it always lets me create subfolder on the Favourites.

    Please help......

  • So this is the 4th unit they have sent you? They want me to pay shipping back to them for a known recall issue. How much money have you spent trying to get a decent unit, and obviously still have a bad one?
