Spearfishing 54 pound kingfish

went diving for some scallops in the bay of islands, came across a school of koheru, some kingies appeared so i started filming them. someone passed me a gun from the boat and i shot one. 54 lb, sweet.

@danny6694 amberjack and yellowtail kingfish are 2 different species, they are similar but still different like the samson fish to amberjack or yellowtail kingfish

Just to clear things up in New Zealand this is a yellow tail kingfish. it is not the same species as an amber jack but is very close. just look in google images to see the difference. there are no yellow fins on an amberjack

this video is of a Yellowtail Kingfish which is found in New Zealand.

the kingfish is a species that falls into the Carangidae family (same as the amberjack). Amberjack refers to the three species of atlantic fish (Greater amberjack, lesser amberjacks and banded rudderfish).
