I have the studless Hakka Rsi's on my accord- and I'm on zip 49931, post me a message and maybe you could test the Nokian's for yourself

This video gave me a woody!

It's difficult to go 199MPH on dry pavement. Aerodynamic lift and stability become really big issues. On the Bonneville Salt Flats, many cars will lose control and spin out because of a lack of traction. Additionally, I have not heard of snow tires that were rated for this speed.

Yep, I'd definitely agree you will need good grip, and maybe an adult diaper! Doubt if any studless tires are even rated for that speed! I know the Blizzaks on my Subaru are not! We are at Zip 49931, so most of what we get is Lake Effect.

Fair enough, that surely counts as a real winter then.
Indeed breaking and cornering tests would be more informative for average ppl, but I guess the point of this demonstration was just different in nature... And I bet doing 321 km/h on ice requires good grip even when driving on a straight line :)

We got 270 inches of snow this year, so I would call that a REAL winter and studded tires are only allowed on public service vehicles. I'd still like to see how the car handles on corners against other tires, and how much VDC impacts its performance.

Given the car in case, what is there that's so hard to believe? :D
Yeah, and a lot of places don't have a proper winter at all... In REAL winter conditions, there's nothing like a good set of studded tires such as these Hakkapeliitta 5's. Non-studded winter tyres are good nowadays aswell, but in conditions in which the every bit of grip is needed (wet slick ice), the studs are just in a different league.
