Simple Minds Come a Long Way Live Brazil 1988

Simple Minds performing their song "Come a Long Way" live in Rio de Janerio, Brazil 7th January 1988. "Rock in Rio". 3 songs from this concert were actually filmed for "Hollywood Rock" (but not this one.....although perhaps footage may exist?).

Simple Minds didn't perform this great song live very often.

The intro is interesting. The sequence of instruments used is Drums, Lead Guitar, Keyboards (half a second later) THEN bass guitar. The bass left 'til last. An eighties thing! The few other live performances of this song copy the studio/album version intro.

Well they did this on alot of the Once upon a time dates in 1986 when they played it for the dropped Up on the Catwalk..........and then dropped it until about 2003 when they occasionally did it in their live set.........The 1986 live versions are closest to the studio version just played faster...........I saw them do it at Milton Keynes Bowl in June 1986.........awesome!!
