Yu-Gi-Oh is like 1985 game :P
i dont know if its before that, coz my dad gave me a card he had when he was a kid (1985) or well he was like 17 :P

Yugioh is like magic the gathering in the aspect that they are both card games. However, I'm not sure they are alike on many other levels.

@Smokemalboro Nope. In the original Yu-Gi-Oh anime, they weren't going to focus on the card games at first, so they just wanted to make a generic card game to be played for one or two episodes (and they chose to make a sort of parody of Magic). However, the card game became extremely popular, so they decided to change it to focus on the card games. That's why Yugi was originally going to be called King of Games, not King of Card Games.
