Ever wonder how fast the serves you're receiving are? Here're a few clips of different serve speeds to put it into perspective.

I measured the speeds by counting the frames from when the ball leaves the racquet to when it makes contact with the court. Then I plugged the numbers into this site's serve speed calculator: http://donthireddy.us/tennis/speed.html So the speeds are only accurate to within +/- 5mph. These are initial velocities (speed immediately after contact with the racquet). By the time it makes contact with the court, the speed slows down considerably. The average speeds over the span of its flight are approximately 10-20mph slower.

  • I think my 1st serves are around 80-100 mph.

  • It's a good video compare to those videos that have stupid title which says 121mph serve..good job

  • @MrTennisMenace

The only video where could calculate speed was the /watch?v=rv8TjVuaeso one because on the others it doesn't show the service box where ball bounces. Show for this one:

    15frames@29.97fps

    about 58feets distance ball travelled

    so it's a more or less 93mph serve (150kmh)

You got a nice service motion by the way and I think u can hit it harder! Keep serving!

  • Can you check how fast my serve is, in one of my videos that is called Service winner?

  • Omg i wish i can serve like the last guy!!! im getting there little by little been improving :P from 70mph now i changed my technique and its a lot faster now and it feels great

  • are yall really measuring the serve speed? a guy told me i serve 95, but according to this video, i serve 120

  • i'm pretty sure the last serve is not 126 mph

    it's not even 110 mph

  • please calculate mine

i got around the 90-100 but couldnt tell when the ball bounced
