@lr21withy : You are correct: The America State of the Union speech--regardless of who is president--is a series of applause lines. The amount of substance can vary, but the style is pretty constant.

Did you critique Bush's speeches? Being in Real Estate, I remember Bush's 2005 speech - The only "good" thing he could say was that Home=ownership was at it's highest ever(including minorities). I knew WHY. And now the public knows: Bush was all for the loosening of mortgage documentation rules that made more money for the big-wigs, while screwing the average joe(conned by Loan Officers)

Did Bush give a State of The Union speech this week? Because if he did, and I missed it, I'd be glad to give him a similar treatment.

Otherwise, I'd say it's time to focus on what is happening right now. The Obama strategy of running against Bush for the next four years isn't going to cut it here.

He continues to blame Bush, and Washington, apparently forgetting that he was part of the Washington establishment, since being elected into the Senate in 2004. He voted in favor of every spending bill placed before him while there. Yet, he considers himself an "outsider" that's not part of the problem... priceless.

Anyone else notice the FY 2011, $1.6T budget he just placed before the Congress? True hypocrisy at its worst.

Luckily, the silent majority have woken up.

I'm puzzled. Most of the banks didn't want tarp but were forced to take it. They paid it back right away, with interest. They are actually making money. The auto companies have wasted $65B. Why is Obama anti bank? Shouldn't he be anti auto company? What did Goldman Sachs do wrong besides being successful? Is this Russia?
