In 9 days we went to Havana, did some salsa dancing in Trinidad and layed on the beach in Varadero.
We travelled by Viazul Bus. We really recommend to stay in Casa Particulares. We had a great time with these friendly people.

In Havana we stayed at the Casa of Mayra and Enrique (http://realadventures.com/listings/1153568_Casa-De-Mayra-Y-Enrique) and in Trinidad we stayed at Casa Pablo (http://www.cuba-junky.com/nl/casas/trinidad_casa_pablo.html).

  • whats life like there???

  • Unfortunately we were there for just 9 days, but this my impression:

Very nice friendly people, who enjoy life despite their poverty. As a tourist you can enjoy the nice atmosphere in f.e. Havana and Trinidad and ofcourse try some salsa dancing en Havana Club rum.

  • Well, life there depends on who you are. Tourists leave the communist island thinking it's heaven on earth, and the few in charge of the island feel the same way, of course. HOWEVER, the common peasant, who comprise the bulk of the population, must survive with a bodega card that can feed their families for up to two weeks a month.

  • que linda mi isla
