Just an opinion, but does anyone agree with me that cannabis should not be called a drug? It's a plant, an herb, not a drug...

you keep reposting this, make a new argument, I think there should be stiff laws and penalties for people who judge others. IF YOU COULD ONLY HEAR YOURSELF, in this case we are typing, so if you could only read you would see how foolish you look

Tetrahydrocannabinol is the mean active ingredient in cannabis. It fits the definition of a drug. Anyone saying otherwise is just plain stupid.

With that said, please consider disallowing the misguided behaviour of such confused, troubled people from informing your opinions about the recreational use of marijuana, recreational users themselves, and/or the nature of the plant and its properties in general.

I agree with you that the habitual use of marijuana for reasons other than medicinal ones does have a dark side, and that this needs to be acknowledged equally and as importantly as the tremendous therapeutic potential of the plant.

The behaviour you're describing: people becoming defensive, indignant, and even hostile in response to criticisms of their lifestyle--a facet of their identity--is not a phenomenon unique to marijuana users, medicinal or otherwise.

It's an unfortunate reality that these the human behaviours. Specifically, they are the traits of the insecure and unhappy. Many people use marijuana improperly to escape such dismal feelings, and react strongly when reminded of this. (continued..)

Psilocybin mushrooms are completely non-toxic. The varieties of poisonous mushrooms belong to completely different genera.

Opium poppies as well, when not subject to industrial-scale agriculture or refinement processes which yield heroin and the like, are completely benign and have tremendous therapeutic value.
