Chrysler recently unveiled 3 EVs:

Dodge EV
Based on the Lotus Europa
200 kW (268 hp), 650 N•m (480 lbft)
0-60 less than 5 seconds
1/4 mile 13 seconds
Top speed 120+mph
Range 150-200miles. 8hr charge on 110V, 4hr on 110V, 26kWh pack.
Seems to be a Tesla Roadster competitor.

Jeep EV
200 kW (268 horsepower)
400 N•m (295 lb.-ft.)
0-60 9.0 seconds
1/4 Mile 16.5 seconds
Top speed 90+mph
In-wheel motors
Will have a gas engine like the Chevy Volt as a backup. Like the Chevy Volt it will have 40 miles of all electric range and ~400miles in total. 27 kWh pack.

Chrysler EV
190 kW (255 horsepower)
350 N•m (258 lb.-ft.)
0-60mph 8.5 seconds
1/4 mile 16.2 seconds
Top speed 100+mph
Also has gas engine, with 40 miles all electric and 400 miles in total. 22kWh Battery.

They target to release one of them for customers in 2010 and have 100 for fleet usage in 2009.

I try to do updates since the specs are reported differently in different places.

  • how much does that generator weigh and does it mean continuous driving or will the batteries eventually run completely out despite the generator's efforts?

  • I wish I knew. The details were short in the release from Chrysler. Seems more like PR concept vehicles than actual vehicles they want to release. Though for the Dodge EV there were spy shots for a revised version, so that might make it to market.

  • Well - what would really help to EVs - is real mass production to public for reasonable price. The question is - when it happens.

  • It's just greenwashing. No legacy auto manufacturer will sell an EV. Legacy auto companies won't build them because EVs never need service. Look how big the service department is at every car dealer, and your out-of-wallet experience there. Much revenue at risk. They don't make money selling cars. They make money on service, like a printer company that makes money selling ink cartridges. Additionally, funds that hold auto stock often also own Oil. Check LIVEOILFREE on youtube on GM ownership

  • @timberbridge you made me look up a word herp derp

  • china sucks

  • china will take over, you trained that nation

now your a slave to them. You don't believe me look at a few sticker on the products you buy. They even own your

    currency.

  • wow chrysler actually did something right for once!

  • What's funny, is that Chrysler Corp has built a big fat minivan and an anachronistic 4door Jeep that have the same EV range as GM's overhyped Volt...

  • They gunna make EV dildos. Your mom gunna buy one...you gunna be realy mad

  • This makes me really mad. They already made a very successful EV before and that one surpassed all of the EV that they are making now. The GM EV1 was much better than these. Why are they not going to take that platform and put it into these. Really makes me wonder

  • china beats the crap out of you in electric vehicles

  • ur absolutely right on this gotta visit MR GOODWRENCH once in a while

btw printer ink is the most expensive fluid on earth per gallon

have you tried to calculate it?
