  • @DavesXXXXXXXX thanks!! I hope the VCM runs their jazz workshop again next year (this year the organizer took a break from running it).

  • What a terrific rendition! I first heard "Angel Eyes" as a youngster in the 1970s. It was a track on an old Shirley Bassey album that was kicking around our house, and from what I remember, it was played regularly. The Victoria Conservatory of Music faculty and students should have more clips on Youtube and more material to view/purchase on its website. Everything I've heard that's associated with the VCM has been terrific -- so much talent!

  • thanks! yeah I want to check out some other recordings of Angel Eyes now :) do you know of any that are good?

  • Nice job. I like the percussive intertwining of kitchen utensils with background humanoid verbiage.

I guess the trick with this one is how to get it to sound non-plodding.

  • thanks Luke! :) it's a jazz song, written by Matt Dennis (it has been recorded by a bunch of people before)

  • Ooh this is nice and mellow. The vibe player was good. Nice piece! Did you write this?
