Well, Anim8or doesn't currently have a way to do hydraulics in it's character rigging system. I thought I'd try a way around it. It's actually two cylinders of equal length, with one thinner than the other. The thinner one is inside the thicker one. The thick cylinder has a transparency map that's split black and white vertically. If the ends of the cylinders are attached to separate bones they will stretch in between a pivot point, simulating a hydraulic rig. The metal will look like it's stretching, so as long as the joint doesn't bend much, and you don't zoom in on it, it should look pretty good.
