They are quite tricky so are Fox Glove that seem to take ages. If you're worried and can't seem to get them to grow, then go and buy a couple of small plants from the garden centre. They're perennials and will last for many years.
Don't worry!! The loo rolls will decompose and go a bit mouldy, as long as the compost is fine. As it's nearly April you don't need to cover the compost with plastic. If however the night is going to be really cold freezing or below, I would suggest putting a thin cover over the top, but removing it the following morning.
Have tried planting in toilets roll I got a lot of moles growing on the rolls. I dont know if its because of cover the containers with a plastic maybe this stop it from getting air I dont know what I did wrong. Help!
They are all wonderful plants. Anything to bring in pollinating insects. So far this year I've seen about a dozen big bumbles, hopefully I'll see loads more as the weather warms up.
Wildflowers are my thing mainly. Top plants for attracting bees would include field scabious, knapweed and hemp agrimony. Perenials and easy to grow and divide.
Hi Claire I have never had any luck planting Delphiniums from seed..they seem very fragile when they germinate & never seem to make it to the bigger pots without perishing> Cant wait to see how they get on in your flat> pls remember to followup with them in a vid for me? many thanks ! Wonderful videos
