@TheNintendoCow Thank you for the response. I did finally figure that out about a week ago. (should have come back to say) But, yes, we did buy a wireless GameCube controller and it works great. Side-admission: When I first opened the GameCube game, I thought, 'Oh, crap! Look at this tiny disc!' I'd never seen a GameCube game before (always been a PlayStation gamer - and Atari in my childhood :-) ). I wasn't expecting that. But then I remembered, Duh, a disc is a disc to a player/console.

this is really easy to explain I can do it to! all you have to do is plug in your gamecube controllers into the top of the wii and insert a gamecube disc! see! i'm 9! I CAN EXPLAIN IT!

brawl can be played in them 4 ways
this is melee which can only b played with the GC controller if its on the Wii or GC.
