@googley3 it's not just about dancing like a slut. it's about so many things that can't be put in 500 characters. and yes, theres a whole lot of scamming in pop music business. people have no idea what they are being sold. that's a given. you have the point though, we are talking from fundamentally different standpoints and will hardly agree on anything. to me it is your system of values which is twisted, and the terrifying thing about it is that it is so pervasive and so impenetrable.

youre acting like dancing like a slut is the worst thing you could possibly do in the world. also like we dont pay her to do what she does. she's not stealing or scamming anyone. people love her music and go to her concerts and thats why she has a ton of money. im just grateful that she uses her fame and money to seriously make a positive difference in the world. but anyway, me and you are arguing from completely different places. to me, ur values system is completely twisted.

@googley3 very well. lets just hope those kids get good enough education to enable them to see through the facade of decency behind of which modern idols like shakira hide.

and dont be delusional, she gave them nothing, she OWES them at least that little for all the excess money she acquired in this unjust and unequal world order. what she doesnt owe them though is the "education" in tastelessness that she's been giving for many years now in her MTV and Pepsi sponsored "lectures".

@googley3 again, you are forgetting she has invested even more energy into making the world a worse place. i claim her vulgar image and ethical inconsistency undo her promotion of equality and education and make her a rather dubious "role model". i am NOT spewing hate, just disdain. i have the right to do that. i am watching this because i am really fed up with all the wrong people getting all the admiration and praise. i hope you understand my point, even if you find it hard to appreciate it.

@gg granted, corrupt colombian government would never do it, but shakira owes that money (and much more) to the lower classes anyway. she is a rich, vile, tasteless, vulgar (her videos!), UNEDUCATED class enemy. she didnt "got herself there", she earned it in most repugnant and dishonorable ways (music business has a way of doing it). but since harvard students cant seem to recognize that i cant expect it from youth in general either. shakira is a good singer and is very pretty, but that is all.

yet i cant retreat one step back from what i said about shakira. she ruins with one hand what she alleviates (but never really fixes!) with the other. i know full well about her charity work but i dont buy it. if she was paying income taxes to colombian government (which she doesnt since she lives on an island that has no personal income taxes) many more schools could be built.

wow youre an asshole and you dont know me. i'm currently in the process of applying to the peace corps and medical school. also, next time you establish a foundation and build 6 schools in colombia and one in haiti, become a unicef goodwill ambassador, and promote an organization to provide early childhood education all over latin america, you can criticize shakira. she might be extremely rich, but she got herself there and she uses her position to do a lot of good in the world.
