How about this.
At the point he says ball of mist or whatever, he shuffles forward, disturbing the ground and sending up a plant spore. Its blurry because its either closer or further away than the person.
I dont deny his experiences, but that there is a bit of a reeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaach!
