Even when the religious are portrayed as the villains? The world in the show is one where magic and religious history is "true" (Miracles and curses exist) but the religious figure are almost always villains. It really is a fantastic series...

As a hardcore atheist, I agree with everything you're saying, but what is the relevance exactly? This is an amazing portrayal of a deeply religious man (Who is also the villain in the series by the way, that's kind of the point.) delivering a powerful speech in a wonderfully written show.
This isn't real life, this isn't a real preacher or his beliefs. It's just a performance.

Interesting but I just cannot deal with all that religion crap, seriously. It just pisses me off to see people just keep going on and on with that religious garbage of good vs evil as an explanation for why we suck so much as human beings. People do evil things, not demons or bad forces; PEOPLE - they do it for greed, out of selfishness, ignorance, shortsightedness, to contro,, for pwoer and because such is human kind. We were never meant to be at peace. We dont function like that.
