Luger currently holds the US Belt and, in a few weeks, will meet Dusty Rhodes in a cage at Starrcade 87.

  • Not only is this Lex Lugar, United States Heavyweight Champion. This is Lex Lugar member of the 4 Horsemen. This match must have taken place in the fall of 1987 beofre Starcade 1987. Thanks for posting this footage.

  • "This match must have taken place in the fall of 1987 beofre Starcade 1987."

Yeah...it states that in the description. I believe this was just before Halloween. Later shows on the tape this footage came from were advertising movies that were to be shown on Halloween night. Glad you enjoyed the vid. :)

  • I loved that U.S. belt they had back then

  • Watch # 66 through #69 and you get an idea of why Luger was the greatest man alive....he just dominated in the ring and showed off his awesome physique in front of millions of TV viewers. He was the perfect muscle bully, superior in every way.

  • @heavymetalrockstar He said "I don't even need the backbreaker."

  • @PhenomAJ or better yet check out his match with Nikita Koloff, where he TOTALLY dominated Nikita Koloff at that Great American Bash 1987 in the Steal Cage match for the US Title. I mean Luger was a heel in that match and Koloff a face, and most of the fans were clearly cheering for Luger!!

  • Man, i really thought Mac Mcgiver would get the upset too....

  • @miggy25 that title belt was cool

  • I Guess The Torch Rack Wasn't Invented, yet!!!

  • @Edgehead10075 In the late 80s, Luger was at his peak as a worker. Don't let his late 90s WCW stint fool you. He was one of the best power wrestlers, especially as a heel. Catch his matches with Pillman and Steamboat.

  • I bet Nikita Koloff was watching this match on his monitor or tv and was steaming with jealousy over Lex Luger. He knows his career went down and did his popularity when Luger beat Nikita Koloff for the United States Championship at the Great American Bash 1987.

  • No question that Luger was alpha male stud........a beast, an animal in the ring......a real powerhouse!

  • What a powerslam!

  • Luger was a superstar?
