I know what it is. Spoken word is a precursor to rap and hip-hop. Both genres are separate today, being rap, and spoken word, respectively. Spoken word today is virtually like this style of preliminary rap. Rap now is simply garbage; so, this being a precursor to such commercial music is a slap in the face to this group. I also know what the intent of each style is; that's the whole point. What they say is more important than how they say it in this case, when correlating genres.
