I believe it is an artist expressing his love for God a way he knows how through the very talent he was blessed with and honoring God our Lord with it. I thought it was beautiful.. no different than a dance or song praising the King of Kings

he is the leader of my small group at church. i can assure you that he is anything but prideful. it's probably just to conceal his identity so that it's not about him.

Most Americans are very ignorant to the customs and cultures of other countries. Usually when a artist covers himself with a hood or vail, he is concealing his identity to shine more light on his artwork, it is popular in italy, parts of europe, on the other hand some musical artists, shroud their entire band or backup vocalists in shrouds to shine more light on them. Thats all it is, so now you know. Had he of worked on a white canvas he probably would of worn a white shroud.

I understand cultural differences and anonymity too. The painting is very good and the presentation entertaining,but am I the only one who noticed this man looks a lot like an executioner?
