Cleaning Alera 19May2009

Updates 20 May 2009,

Video was captured from live stream yesterday. Alera has alot of white smelly mucus sort of discharge. Brought him to vet and he had antibiotic injection. I have to use blower to dry the private after cleaning him so that he will feel more comfy when bed time. Btw, he bit himself again on the tummy and leg and if you see him on live cam, he will be wearing a cone. He is on Azodyl medication.

Thomas, I'm so sad to learn just today of Baby Alera crossing the Rainbow Bridge. I was subscribed to your blog, but lost touch when you switched most of your videos to JustinTV. I was unable to watch at work. You are such an inspiration for the humane treatment of animals everywhere. I was so touched by your kindness and determination to save forgotten and injured animals. There are stars in heaven for you. May you be blessed and may Baby Alera rest in peace.

I just read that Alera has died. I'm literally sick to my stomach as I've watched his recovery from step to step.

It's very sad, but although it was a short time, I think he enjoyed life.

If it wasn't for you Justin, Alera would have died that day in the alley. Thank you for that.

it feels to me this was a act from god that u came in to this poor helpless cats life u saved him god will bless u in this life and the next i hope he does u are a saint in my eyes god bless

This little cat was so lucky that you came into his life...My two dogs found a cat, and would not move from where it was..i went over, and the cat had been hit by a car, and i could feel the broken bones under the skin..I hitch hiked to a local vet with the injured cat and my 2 dogs, and the cat survived, just, but only because he was given immediate treatment for shock. The vet said if my dogs had not alerted me, the cat would have died of blood loss,so even animals can save each other...

What a lovely cat he looks, and how he trusts you...I am sorry to hear he died [from other comments] but at least he knew love and kindness in his life. What happened to the little white dog with the mange?..hope he was ok..

I discovered the videos about Alera after he had passed, but God belss you! You were a patient and kind man to that cat, you stuck with him from the day that kitty walked into your life. He will be waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for you. I'm crying as I write this. I've watched the videos about this beautiful cat's recovery and I honor you. You have my deepest respect, I am an animal rights activist and I adore God's creature, from watching your videos you have inspired me. Rest In Peace Alera.

I didn't know this brave soldier passed. I'm so sorry. I am choking back tears as I write this. He was an inspiration.

I first saw you and Alera a few months ago, he was already gone... but it really impressed me how patient you were, when he kept chewing on himself, and how much kindness day after day you showed, to try to help him be healed... it popped into my mind again today and I wanted to come back here and say you are a good man and God bless you!
