thunderstorm 6-17-09

Just a quick vid of the first really good t-storm of the year. I couldn't really capture much of the lightning, since it was pretty much right over me, but you get the idea. There's a good one around the :45 mark. These storms caused some pretty nasty flooding in the Pittsburgh area. Taken from my house in Beechview, just south of the city.

Ha, that was right up in Dormont wasn't it... I am on the T line in Beechview... I think I remember that storm... I think I was watching it out the window whele my wife was hiding in the basement with the dog... LOL

Yeah this is Beechview looking out towards Broadway Ave. My poor dog was hiding too. I was shooting this from the third floor and the lightning got so close it made the hairs on my arms stand up a couple times. Kinda scary...

This reminds me of that night when it was very windy and the power lines toppled over. From my home in Sheraden I saw purple lightning like bolts. I was so scared!!

This was among the Scariest weather related days in SW PA, in years, June 2008 Father's day, A tornado was forming over my house, but it just stopped rotating and disapeared, No pictures, but i was shaking so much I probably Could not take one anyway....that was the scariest ever since being in a Microburst

That Storm was WAAAAAAAAAAAAY BAD! I had freaking purple lightning and a funnel cloud forming in front of my house!! better yet lightning nearly hit my house, 4 times..
