Final Fantasy VII Remake Announcement At E3 2008?

Thanks to a comment and going to G4TV's website, I have now confirmed that they are going to make an announcement about Final Fantasy VII on August 2 or 3. Whether it is a remake or a continuation is yet to be revealed.

This event has been confirmed to some extent. The makers of Final Fantasy VII said they would make an announcement about it accomponing the release date of Advent Children Complete sometime in August.

E3 is a week long event that occurs in the middle of July. E3 2008 week was 2 weeks ago and their won't be another one for a year. Watching G4 won't help much either. You're best best is to search FF7 on wikipedia everyday through August 1-5 or till September maybe.

I thought they said they were done with FF7 for a while. I mean...they've really focused on it for such a long time.

No. They're focused on fabula crystal nova series (XIII and such), and then XIV. But they did say march this year that they'd investigate the feasibility of doing a remake of VII. That makes me think that we'll see one probably sometime towards the end of this decade, maybe on the ps4 (if one comes out).

well not anymore, apparently FFXIII will be on xbox....*sigh* i wish they'd just PICK a console rather than a variation. i mean, i got a ps2 for kh for instance- now they've released a new game on a ds which i dont have and another which will be on psp, which i also dont have one...making it annoying...

i have a small feeling that somewhere out in the future they will make a FFVII remake. just not any time soon of course they're overloaded with projects. at least they finally have 358/2 days done.

Just a thought (a very sad thought) but I read somewhere that the compilation of FFVII was supposed to continue until VII's 20th anniversary, perhaps that is when they plan to remake the game and release it, but that's still a long way to wait....
