Dave Lemanczyk perfectly executes the dumbbell deadlift in a twenty minute timed set. The dumbbells are 122 pounds each on black pipe without knurling. Lemanczyk is NOT a great deadlifter however his effort is what matters most within this video. Focused effort over time without mistakes equals results no matter how you slice it. For the record, this is outstanding supplementary work for Dave's heavy stone carries of which is something he can do well. Feel free to challenge yourself in a simlar fashion and remember to put progression in place. Lemanczyk developed the KEG CONDITIONING Book & DVD in 2007and it is available on his web site. You'll enjoy the perspective he offers due to his direct and simplistic nature.

  • I dead over 200s in each for over 20 reps at 13 years of age, NATURAL.

  • And this is impressive because ......... ???

  • I like these better than reg deadlifts,,they feel more balanced and more legs are engaged!!!

  • How much do you weigh?, It's difficult to tell in the video. This looks pretty similar to the Romanian deadlift, which moves stress from quads which is what I do.

I have just done 3 sets of 10 reps with about 80 pound dumbbells and I was knackered for a bit, only second session doing them. I have read people saying dumbbells deadlift not as good as barbell, what do you think about that? Great video. thanks.
