@izzythedancer actually, that smoke was the product evaporating off her hair, if there was no product in the hair, the moisture in the hair would be evaporating, therefore causing more damage. Just sayin :)

yeah..it really seemed like you were protecting her hair while all the heat/smoke was coming from the blowdryer.

I thought professionals can straighten curly hair with a blow dryer??? Why were her ends frizzy after the blow dry??? Of coarse the flat iron fixed that but why would you wanna put so much heat on your hair?

@jjg35 It is possible to achieve a smooth look on curly hair in the salon without an iron but this guest not only has very curly hair but it is textured and may have some damage on the ends. Using an iron in this instance will achieve the smoothest look possible and that is not something that can be achieved with just a blow dryer – not even by a stylist.
