This is brilliant but I wish he had spent more time on the sound

I am a big fan of Mr Garrison and I admire his prowess, ability, and musicianship. But, may I say I don´t like this arrangement? or just because it´s extraordinarily difficult I have to dig it? I couldn´t play this in 100 years, but I won´t have a second listen either (Patittucci´s version is much more pleasant to my ear)

@brambau i agree....id love to hear him play this with a group tho

Critics Listen Up !!! -- Giant Steps isn't for the weak. You have to have the spirit of Jazz in order to want to learn to play this tune first of all. If not you'll never learn it. Like "Cherokee", and "All The Things You Are" you need to learn this tune before you can criticize Mr. Garrison or any body for that matter. Okay let's see if you guys can play it better. This multi-track visual is probably the best version of Giant Steps ever attempted. Peace, my fellow Bass Players and musicians.

@brambau Very true, it's a bit painful

giant steps in 7/8 :P
i like to hear it and listen very often to it, thanks for that
-
@brambau the timbres is conflicting cause both the solo and the chords are being made on the same bass e on the same region. its not matter of arragement, smarty.

@dreadtodred YES THAT'S FOR SURE, BUT HE PLAYS REALLY DIFFERENT FROM THIS GENERATION OF HIS FATHER.A TRUE INOVATOR BASS PLAYER!!

I like Giant Steps but this doesn't sound good. The arrangement is busy and timbres conflicting
