Isn't it rather prophetic that this scene from 1986 pretty much foresaw things to come before anyone knew terms like New World Order, Occupy Wall St., and Enron?
The cleverness of the dialogue also predates the movie, Wall Street's "greed is good" speech, by at least a year.
By the way, everyone credits Michael Mann for Miami Vice but credit also has to go to head writer/creator Anthony Yerkovich, and director, Paul Michael "Starsky and Hutch" Glaser who gave Prodigal Son an intense look.

I don't give a damn if it's the USS Enterprise, it's our job to rock it. And if someone gets hurt, so what!

Do you all know how much truth is being kicked about how the world works in this scene? All from a little show in 1985. This is why the show was great in the first two seasons.
FUCK THE BOAT, its all our jobs to rock it.

Probably one of the most intense dialogs ever delivered in the series delivered by one of the most creepy villians ever to grace the set of Miami Vice. To have that kind of information about somebody back in 1985 was considered "god like". This was before the internet became the information tool it is today where pretty much ANYBODY with a credit card can find the deepest darkest secrets about ANYBODY else. This scene like many others symbolizes the brilliance of the director Michael Mann.
