Moro Rock is a granite dome in Sequoia National Park, California, USA. It is located in the center of the park, at the head of Moro Creek, between Giant Forest and Crescent Meadow. A 400-step stairway, built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, is cut into and poured onto the rock, so that visitors can hike to the top. The stairway is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The view from the rock encompasses much of the Park, including the Great Western Divide.

  • A good video illustrating Moro Rock. One Halloween night after having unusual trick or treaters, Raccoons making noise on my door for food at my lodging in Giant Forest ,I climbed Moro Rock safely and easily at night without a flashlight using the light of the full moon. But down in the parking area at the base of the rock in the forest it was spooky and dark with no flashlight and hard to find my car plus possible encounters with wild aimals such as bears or cougars.
