I won an eBay auction for $1 a couple of years ago for a lens-less Zenit 122 body. Without knowing anything about which lens was best, I picked up a 44M-4 lens also from eBay. Took me about a year to film test the camera, and I was almost shocked at the quality of the "junk Russian" lens. I have many dozens of lens, but none sharper. Strange how the crude the old Soviet-era cameras could be, compared to the excellence of their optics.
