The Habs team in the mid to late 1970s were by far the best assembled team ever in hockey. And I make no apologies to the Oilers teams of the mid 1980s. With Montreal in the 1970s, it was magical. Nothing went wrong. The Habs destroyed their opponents by loosing only 29 games in a 3-year span from 1975-76 to 1977-78 and outscoring their opponents on average by a 2.7 goals per game average in 1976-77! The Oilers of the 1980s don't even come close to those numbers!
