Rofl, seriously. Seems like in all the games no one really ever acknowledges Link's deeds until thousands of years after when he's already dead xD.

I know, but the point is still there. I've always noticed it.

"Hey look, some evil guy has kidnapped our princess, and probibly wants to take over our Kingdom"

"Ahh, don't worry. That kid'll take care of it."

I just find that hilarious... as well as somewhat lazy on Nintendos part... though to their credit they did make SOME effort to add a bit more recognition for Link's deeds in Twilight Princess.
