In this 45 minute LIVE online global event produced and facilitated by Squizmix, we brought together 5 leading world experts (scientists and policy makers) across 4 continents together with an online audience of just under 2,000 participants from 78 countries. The aim was to raise awareness about ocean acidification and future implications.
Our online presenters were both scientists and policy makers, and our participants included government Ministers and representatives from several countries, media, journalists, scientists, business people, schooling and tertiary students, educators, general public. Global warming is increasing ocean temperatures and raising sea levels. New scientific research shows that our oceans are beginning to face yet another threat due to global warming-related emissions their basic chemistry is changing because of the uptake of carbon dioxide released by human activities. Ocean acidification is a consequence of increasing carbon dioxide emissions due to human activities.
