@aarti1garg at the end of the recipe, the lady says in telugu tht this dessert does not need sugar. It has good taste from the sugar of the furits. But she also says tht if u need more sugar, u can add date syrup. Sugar is not so healthy option. Honey is also not bad and tht is my opinion... Maybe this explanation has helped u.. I can understand telugu so I translated it...good luck.

Custard powder comes with colours and flavours, while I wanted the dessert to have the natural looks and flavours of the fruits. Oats when mixed with the fruits is not that sticky.
