In this clip, Deida polls the audience on their sexual realizations, then sends them into hysterics as he pantomimes a handful of hilariously imbalanced sexual personas. He then respectfully ruminates on the therapeutic deficiencies of the great Ramana Maharshi, before making the counterintuitive claim that the world's greatest artists touch us so deeply BECAUSE of their imbalance! Enjoy....

  • Ramana wasn't dysfunctional, you know that even from the intelligence in his books

  • I agree birdogio.. this person totally misses higher reality. He shows a great deal of ignorance in confronting Ramana Maharshi who in my mind lived without question in higher states. Ramana lived in the truth. This guy lives in the darkness but thinks he is wise. He might be entertaining but I have no respect for what he is saying what so ever. i am a student of Sivananda since 1962. I know what it is like to have sex pleasure replaced by bliss. Here we have the blind leading real people.

  • @greenrate Hello - enjoying your comments on this subject, surprised they are not being removed like my own open honest comments..!! Wherever i was unsure, now i am certain. His name is also linked to Adi Da, where apparently his teachings are a stripped down, simplified version of adi da's.

  • I dispute his claim about artists (among many other things). Yes, we find 'tortured' personalities like Beethoven's intriguing, and that can definitely contribute to the power of their art. But Mozart wasn't particularly 'tortured', and he remains a fascinating personality who also produced amazing music. Spielberg is a great artist, and he seems quite sane. Mel Gibson is most definitely NOT balanced, and his works have displayed disturbing tendencies of late.

  • @greenrate I also find it strange that he chose to name himself "God". Apparently the name "Greenburg" wasn't flashy enough, and didn't mesh well with the blue denim.

  • @wkatz0

Yes, that's one of the infamous "Deida-blue" shirts (!)

All Deida-bots wear that color because they believe women are mesmerized by it.

Manipulative? Well, everyone can decide for themselves.

Personally, I'd be more than a little off-put by someone who tries to influence me by anything as crude as the color of his shirt . . . and who thinks so highly of himself as to adopt the name of God (Dei-da) as his own.

  • His early work (ie: The Way of the Superior Man) was simple and powerful, however these days he seems to ramble on, creating new material, selling workshops but I dont hear any great stuff from him these days.

  • wtf is that shirt?

Did he just talk shit on Yoga and Maharishi?

He didn't actually say anything useful during the entire 7 minutes.

  • He isn't saying Ramana Maharshi was disfunctional across the board. He's saying that even if one's body is "disfunctional" as Ramana's was a fair part of his later life, one could be completely "enlightened" in the realm of pure Consciousness/Spiritual which by all accounts, Ramana was. That doesn't mean, though, that one in "enlightened" yogicly or psychologically/theraputically. The realms of Pure Consciousness, Yoga and Psychology are three completely different realms.

  • @rolandSullivan I think that your statements above lack clarity and seem a bit too wrapped in metaphoric and hateful ideals. Though David's ideas were not as clearly spoke as they possibly could be, their is no reason to deny his experience or teaching. To say he is "missing" higher reality is proof that for one he is human, and second, that despite your years of learning. You still have a long way to go just like the rest of us.

  • Great video. Love Deida, especially Way of the Superior Man. Wonderful book.

I would like to see more data on the Ramana comment though, seemed a bit unfounded but his over all point about art, especially sex being a states experience rather than just a structural event is really good.

  • @bkm79 better marry a woman, you will know lot better
